There are lots of candidates for "fetched". The time I was first notified that this message exists, the time I fetched the headers, the time I fetched any given MIME part, the time I set the \SEEN flag.

Do we measure the time the message was downloaded in the background when I was still fast asleep in bed? Or the time I first performed an action on the message?

I guess what I'm asking, is what is the event that you're trying to record, and why?
