Anyhow, I am sorry to hear that you have so much problem with Firefox,  perhaps you can file bug reports, or just use Safari for now.          How is filing a bug report supposed to help, when what I'm describing is obviously a problem with Firefox for other people, and can't be unknown to the developers? Perhaps it has something to do with the sites you go to, as we have no  problem using Firefox with machine from Powerbook Pismo, iBook G3 500,  iMac G4 800, G4 400, G4 dual 867, G5's, Powerbook G4 500Mhz, 1Ghz, Mac  Mini, plus many others ....  But you know what? We have not really tried  on any eMac as we just don't have one of those.     I'm concerned that the browser that's supposed to be the bee's knees, the hot stuff, might be sensitive to certain web pages.  Is there a list of the type of web pages that I'm supposed to avoid with Firefox?  Sure would be nice info to have if there is, or I could just lump it in with the rest of the buggy temperamental problematic browsers out there.  But WAIT, it's the best there is, ain't it?     If I was going to wacko pages with wierd content or strange code that might be a problem, but I'm not.     And how is an eMac going to be so different from any other Mac that THAT should make any difference?  Funny, I thought I bought a Mac, not a one-off boutique CPU that requires special software.     We have no problem?  Then how is it that at least two people on this list, Mac devotees, are having trouble?     This sounds kinda like the answers I was used to getting from the American car industry in the 70s - "Gee, WE don't have any problems with our cars, what are YOU doing wrong?" Hey, go download Firefox 1.5 beta and try that one out and see if it  works better for you?  ver. 1.5 sure sounds a lot more improvement than  1.0.6     Is this ALSO going to be the best, the snazziest, the smoothest browser version that's ALSO sensitive to some web pages and web content and hangs up and slows down?  Or is this one REALLY the best, no fooling, for sure?     I wouldn't be so snide about it but for the fact that I LIKE the browser for some things, and I keep hearing about how other people like it and what a quantum leap it is over other browsers, but then when I point out that it's NOT all sweetness and light I get answers like these. Also, patch up to 10.4.2 Tiger with all the other security patch, etc.   They do help.  10.4.0 is not so smooth.     It's a new machine.  The day I opened it up it had 10.4.2 on it, and it's been updated with everything that Apple support has suggested each and every day that they did.     I certainly will try the 1.5 beta version, and maybe I'll just be stunned with that one.  Who knows?
