You know, I really should have known the difference between Thunderbird and
Firefox and all that, but since I've been plugging along with OS 9.1 and my old
iMac G3/333 and Emailer for so long I just haven't investigated such things
nearly as much as I should have in order to have stayed current.
But now, with the new eMac G4, loaded with OS 10.4.2, that I brought home today
I'm going to be looking at such things again.
For now, I'm going to give Mail and Safari a try while I get all my old data out
of the folder it's in on the desktop and CAREFULLY put it on the new machine,
and then AFTER I feel more confortable with it I might try dragging out Emailer
and working with it again using the OS 9.2.2 folder that my friendly local Mac
dealer put on there for me just in case I wanted to try some apps that I have
from the old machine.
I would probably have gone on with the old machine and OS for a good while, but
the video broke and fixing it wasn't cost effective.
Anyone want to buy an iMac chassis without hard drive or RAM for parts or to
make an aquarium out of?
(The 2 year old 120GB hard drive is going into a new casing with a Firewire
connection for use as an external drive with the new eMac, BTW.)
Thanks for the info about Firefox and Thunderbird - Charles
