As you
know, they do not run Classic, so all of my OS 9 software is hosed.
You can grab a full setup for SheepShaver from my emailer site. That
will let you use OS 9 on the Intel Macs. If you plan to do much with
it, I highly recommend you do a google search for SheepShaver and
check out the home page as well as read up on some of what it can and
can not do.
I would appreciate suggestions from anyone for replacement web design
software for Claris Home Page. Claris Home page is a simple
WYSIWYG web
page layout program. Programs such as Adobe GoLive and Adobe/
Macromedia
DreamWeaver are just way too complicated.
iWeb ships with the new Macs and is REALLY easy to use. However, it
is also really fixed in what it can do. So it is good for doing some
basic web site designs, but useless for doing anything outside of its
limited scope (for instance, there is no raw HTML editor in iWeb so
if what you want to do isn't directly supported, you can't do it
inside iWeb... this was a PITA for me the other day when I was trying
to do links to a section lower on my page, and iWeb doesn't allow
that. So I had to export to folder (which I do anyway as I don't
use .Mac), then edit the web page in a text editor... that was fine,
until I made a change to the page in iWeb later, and lost my links
that I had manually done, so I had to redo them all again... annoying
to say the least!).
