Acrobat Reader that can handle v3 PDFs has versions for old OSes, so
it isn't likely to run into someone that can't use a v3 PDF (and if
they have an OS so old as to not support Acrobat v3, then it would be
time to tell them to upgrade, machines that support v3 can be had for
free as everyone else is throwing them away so there would be no
reason NOT to upgrade!)

Gosh I had no idea this was so complicated because of not upgrading and
I'm sure glad to have this information.
How do I Save a document into a Adobe 3 version PDf? All I have is the
Adobe 7? I use Epson CX6600 which is set to print in Adobe 7 PDF.
Would I have to download the old version 3 and put it in the Epson
utility or what?
In the meantime I am writing these folks and suggesting they upgrade.
