There is nothing in the Print window giving a choice of Adobe
versions.
Are you doing this thru OS X's print dialog?
If you are doing it with OS X, then you don't have to worry about it,
as OS X already saves in the lowest compatible format. So the PDF you
create with OS X will be openable by pretty much anyone that has a
copy of Acrobat Reader (or any other PDF reading tool).

Thanks Chris, I never knew this before. However I cannot Save as PDF
in Classic mode from ClarisWorks, AppleWorks or WordPerfect. Why is
that? In fact I cannot print through my Epson CX6600 from those either,
not that it matter than much except that I do have some old files from
those apps that I once in a while may want to print. I forget how to
put the CX 6600 Driver into the old Classic Chooser.
