After using Claris Emailer 2.0.3 for several millennia, I've finally made the painful decision to leap to a contemporary email client. (For over a year, CE has not 'played nicely' with my employer's email server. My network wizard has tried valiantly to make things work, but to no avail. Sadly, I'm afraid I must move on. A year is long enough to be in email limbo!) I believe my two best options are Entourage (my employer supports this for Mac users) and the Apple Mail app.
--I would be grateful to receive informed opinions on the merits of Entourage vs. Apple Mail. --If there's a good, current discussion of this online somewhere, I would be grateful to hear about it. I've done Google searching already, and most of the discussions I've found are several years old, which don't help at all. --Both Entourage and Apple Mail will import old email from Claris Emailer 2.0.3. Any comments on how well this does or doesn't work? --I'm especially concerned about the extent to which I will be able to preserve my addressbook, with its many groups. If I could avoid recreating email groups, it would be a plus. --I've already received multiple recommendations of Emailchemy (www.weirdkid.com/products/emailchemy/index.html) as an excellent app to use to facilitate the transition from Claris Emailer to something current. Any comments on this? FYI, I will stay on the emailer-talk list, for old time's sake, but I'm afraid my active CE days are through. <sigh> Thanks!
