Importing messages (I found) has to be done with just one or two
folders at a time. If you try to import too many messages at once,
Mail simply chokes. So take your time and be patient.
Email addresses are not imported into Mail but into "Address Book".
(It took me a while to figure this out.) I was not able to preserve
groups but Mail has an intelligent way to create "smart" groups,
provided the "notes" contain a key word. Unfortunately, Address Book
doesn't import the notes, so they have to be created manually - what
a pain!
