In emailer Digest V2008 #6, the person identified as Greg Slade <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> thoughtfully said:
>I've been keeping silent about this, because I didn't want to look >stupid. The rest of you probably already know all about this, but I'm lost. > >As you know, I have migrated to an OS X machine, and it has Classic >installed. I copied my entire Claris Emailer folder into the >"Applications (MacOS 9)" folder. When I double-click on it, Classic >seems to start normally (not that I would know what "normal" looks >like), but then I get an error message which reads: "Claris Emailer >could not open the required file "Connections" because and unknown error >(-5000) occurred. Press OK to quit." Chris has probably contacted you directly with the answers you need, but... I just migrated from a 2000/2001 QuickSilver G4 (733MHZ) to a 2002 model (933MHZ), and stupidly erased my original boot drive (transplanted) before confirming that the disk image I had created actually =contained= files (it didn't), so I've nearly duplicated your problem. (Luckily I had saved my [EMAIL PROTECTED] folder to a CD.) Running 10.4.11 I just put my [EMAIL PROTECTED] folder in the Applications folder -- I have prefs set to start Classic when the Mac starts up, and [EMAIL PROTECTED] finds it OK (or vice versa). Your "Connections" file is =in= the [EMAIL PROTECTED] folder... I can't explain the "Error -5000" message. Chris? >Plus, of course, I really, *really* want to see some progress on an >Emailer workalike for OS X. Download PowerMail and take a look at it in demo mode. It's enough like [EMAIL PROTECTED] that if/when I'm forced to change that's what I'll go to.
