I think the fact that the sqrt term can be negative indicates a
problem somewhere. It might be as simple as the fact that the maximum
reach of the robot is a sphere, but that axis limits are a cuboid, or
it could be something more fundamental.

I am not at all clear what p-sub-w-sub-x etc mean, they don't appear
in the earlier equations, but I never really did get the hang of
matrix algebra.
