If that is the case,  I think we should simply continue and if a 
situation arises where someone does not like having their LGPL code 
compiled with GPL3 code, etc, then address that situation at the time.

If the developers original intent was to make their work publicly 
available when they made their contribution, then I would think that as 
long as we keep the software free, open, and accessible .... what real 
complaint could they have??

I thought the GPL "copy left" concept was to make sure the software was 
always open and accessible to others and that as the "copy left" 
statement implies is exactly opposite a "copyright".

Unfortunately, I agree.   However this LinuxCNC group effort screams for better 
organization and direction.

How about a top ten list of things that need to be fixed/redone, etc??   I 
think that Michael has attempted to throw a few things out there but ...
