Well I guess it depends on your definition of infinite jerk. (practical
approximation or theoretical absolute)
In your example acceleration does not actually jump to zero in a large step.
so I think it's just very very high, not infinite.
just as shooting a bullet from a gun has jerk, acceleration and then speed.
It really has to doesn't it?
just really hard to measure it :)
