One of the versions at that listing has a Rockchip 3288 which does not
have an integrated microcontroller. Some other suppliers might be
offering it with newer model Rockchip ARM SOC or Allwinner that only
costs ~$5 USD with the integrated micros. If they have access to the
GPIO pins then you will only need to add stepper drivers.
