Hi Anthony,

Appreciate your response and findings. That is to say there are built-in
switches in the extension sockets. In the scope, it is stated that:-

Assemblies comprising a plug and one or more portable socket-outlets
connected together by a flexible cord
or cable are not considered to be adaptors according to this part of BS
1363. Devices incorporating switches,
transformers, timers, thermostats or other control means are outside the
scope of this part of BS 1363.

This type of products would not qualify in this standard. I am at lost why
the sub-clause 15.2 is required. In addition, why such product need to be
tested 3 times higher than normal test voltage of 2,000 Vac. In BS 1363-1,
similar requirement exists and it is required for moulded plug that cannot
be checked in detail after manufacturing so higher voltage to detect any
manufacturing fault is sensible. For this reason, I am interested what does
this sub-clause require?

Regards,

Scott
