There are two lathe sample configurations: nist-lathe which is a stepper lathe, with spindle encoder for threading, and spindle speed control; lathe-pluto which is a servo lathe using the Pluto interface board. It sounds like the lathe-pluto configuration will be a better starting point for you - you just have a different interface card. Chris P.S.
