Hello everyone.
I am building mid size gantry type machine that will use EMC2.
To home machine and know actual position of the machine in any given moment I
want to use laser base measurement tool.
In other word I want to use standard laser distance measurement tool, that will
give me XYZ distance from the home position (or with fixture offset G55), and I
want convert that data to the format to I can use it as a encoder data to plug
it into EMC2.
I want replace encoder with the laser measurement tool.
There are good reason for that and particular to large machine that do not have
high frame rigidity. By having encoder data coming from external measurement,
that is not depend on tool pressure and machine frame flexibility, I can do/(I
hope) high precision job with large and light type of machine.
Does any one know from where I need start?
