I forgot that he's got a PWM unit. unfortunately, I don't have anything to drive with a PWM controller, so that wouldn't work. I do have encoders with index on my servos, with Geckos to drive them. When you get to the stage of testing the stepper controller (maybe at CNC workshop?), let me know.
