Some of us are still hoping someday to not have to use a parallel port to communicate with the CNC machine. I personally am hoping someday to be able to control EMC2 from my Mac (read no parallel ports). USB or ethernet look like the most likely prospects. The solution may be to use something like G100 or ARC100 at the machine and axis running remote but, we can always dream that someone will find a solution to allow EMC2 to operate over USB or ethernet.
