Whilst dabbling with EMC on my lathe I have noticed it is *very* modal between Jog and MDI mode. I am used to being able to jog and then type in an MDI command, then jog, then MDI etc. e.g. I tend to start/stop the spindle using MDI commands and then the arrow keys to jog etc. As soon as I touch the TABs at the top of the axis screen to go from one mode to the other, it e-stops the machine, which is really quite infuriating!
