Whilst dabbling with EMC on my lathe I have noticed it is *very* modal 
between Jog and MDI mode.
I am used to being able to jog and then type in an MDI command, then jog, 
then MDI etc.
e.g. I tend to start/stop the spindle using MDI commands and then the arrow 
keys to jog etc.

As soon as I touch the TABs at the top of the axis screen to go from one 
mode to the other, it e-stops the machine, which is really quite 
infuriating!
