Thanks Tom, that fixed it. I made these changes to the factory settings on my Freqrol FR-Z200 http://www.meau.com/functions/dms/getfile.asp?ID=010000000000000001000000234200000 (short URL) http://alturl.com/qqbm Function 3 - V/F (base frequency) = 110Hz (was 50Hz) 18 - High-speed maximum frequency limit = 240Hz (overrides Func.1, was 120Hz, will go to 360Hz) 19 - Base Frequency Voltage = 110VAC (was 9999VAC, so presently the voltage ramps up from 3% at 0RPM to 100% or 110VAC at 110Hz, then stays at 110VAC until 240Hz) At 240Hz, I get 7200RPM, 2.5Amps, 110VAC. This particular VFD goes up to 360Hz so I expect I could get up to 10,800RPM. With no load the motor gets warm. With a minor load the motor gets warm to the point of being too uncomfortable to hold. With cooling, I would guess 400Watts or 1/2HP could be had. I haven't checked this yet, but I suspect that the PWM voltage to the motor is still 220 Volts. The motor has a 110 Volt rating, so this may be an issue. I have no idea how well the bearings would hold up, but it may be easy to upgrade these if necessary. -- Kirk Wallace http://www.wallacecompany.com/machine_shop/ http://www.wallacecompany.com/E45/index.html California, USA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stay on top of everything new and different, both inside and around Java (TM) technology - register by April 22, and save $200 on the JavaOne (SM) conference, June 2-5, 2009, San Francisco. 300 plus technical and hands-on sessions.
