I machine some very soft AL (99.99+% AL). It's impossible to machine without lubricant. I just use some no-name cutting lubricant (Probably similar to WD-40), that we also use it for tapping. Without this kind of lubricant the cutting heads (3-fl endmills) gum up within seconds.
