This is really something that new users like yourself should consider
contributing to the wiki.  Experienced users will generally think all those
"how to add X to .ini or .hal" as basic things everyone should know - given
the type of questions on the mailing list, this is obviously not true.

The wiki is available for everyone to edit.  It's simple to add a new HowTo
list page. And then add the how to topic pages.
