Thanks, that's all good info. My main thing is to avoid the fibre optic dvi extenders at all cost, I do like the idea of routing a single flexible cable that could not care less about electro magnetic interference.
Maybe I should rule them fully out AFTER I found some high quality cables of same length. Doing too many things at once right now to price cables. Danial I use remote displays a lot in the 'day job' and get varying results direct from the computers, but with a VGA driver or distribution amp then for 1680x1050, 15mt is not a problem. But I get a good distance with droping back to 1024x768 which is all the information display application needs. The DVI feeds are a lot more problematic, but do follow the same sort of 'rules'. Direct from the computer is hit and miss, but with an 'extender' longer distances are more stable, however with only 10mts of cable at 1920x1050 even with a driver, I am getting 'noise' on the image. while using the vga out instead is perfect. -- Lester Caine - G8HFL ----------------------------- Contact - http://lsces.co.uk/wiki/?page=contact L.S.Caine Electronic Services - http://lsces.co.uk EnquirySolve - http://enquirysolve.com/ Model Engineers Digital Workshop - http://medw.co.uk// Firebird - http://www.firebirdsql.org/index.php ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net Dev2Dev ... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net Dev2Dev email is sponsored by: Show off your parallel programming skills.
