They have 2 versions, and I would have bought the dual port version if it
had been in stock but had to settle for the single port card. The diff is
the extra socket and backplane insert as near as I can tell. The chip is
a dual port chip but the 2nd port isn't populated. I'll go see if any of
the purchase paper survives, brb.
No clue where I got it. It is a 'PCI1P' card, which shows up at $D000 in
the IOMap. The paper says it has a SUN1888 chip, good for up to 2.7
megabytes a second, so its faster than most mobo chipsets. It also says
the port address and IRQ are assigned by the BIOS/OS, so the $D000 is not
carved in anything more substantial than beach sand.
Presently google says newegg has it at 19 dollars, and amazon for about 21.
I probably got this one from newegg.
Stay away from the net/moschip 9815's, they seem to be bad news for us.
