I have used no-ip.com, in which software runs on the host that talks to
a no-ip server to reserve one of no-ip's IP's. When a remote tries to
use the IP, the request gets routed to no-ip, which then routes the
traffic to the host. no-ip had a Linux host pretty early on, so has it
pretty well sorted out. I suspect logmein does something similar, but
only has a beta host utility?
