Hello kqt4at5v (what a name!)
this kind of collet is the standard tool holder on my Steinel vertical
mill, in size ER40 with a Morse taper 3 shank. Very reliable, just once,
with very large cutting force in cast iron, the 12 mm bit got pulled out
gradually, digging deeper and deeper. I noticed that after more than 200
mm of milling a groove, by this time the bit had a cutting depth of
about 20 mm - at least I knew after this that my machine was capable of
doing much more in one cut than I had ever tried! I wish that the holder
were shorter so I could use more of the heigth above table.
