I might still be tempted to "tune" them. (ie, forget the science, just

Changing the direction pins will only change the direction that the
motors turn, which will really mess things up.
I think that, again, to swap the X-direction you would need to change
DH parameters. (negative angles?)

It might be easier just to sit at the other side of the robot :-)
