Well, several steps forward I believe, but in jumping the gun like that,
way more than 2 steps backwards. Is there an ipv6 utility that hits the
.255 broadcast address and invites a response from any ipv6 enabled devices
on the same network cabling? Doing the same as a broadcast on .255 of any
v4 network does now?

One thing I must do however, is reset that router in the shop to be a pure
access point so all my stuff is in the same class C. I have no clue ATM if
it has any ipv6 enabled, but AFAIK, nothing else on my little 192.168.xx.xx
network is enabled. But somewhere, there must have been an encouraging
response.

Is it possible for both to exist on the same bunch of cat5?

Lets face it, the day is coming when our ISP's will give us ipv6 whether we
are ready or not, and if we can be ready when that happens, so much the
better. I personally think people like my Shentel/cable setup, in
assigning an ipv4 address to every modem they hook up, is doing the
ultimate bite them in the ass one day cheap shortcut. OTOH, if Shentel was
to NAT their customers to a 10. address, how would anyone be able to locate
my web page? Couldn't be done when all their customers were behind a
NATing firewall.

Did anyone take notice that Friday, the commerce dept gave notice that
ICANN was, at the end of their contract, out of a job? I wonder if this is
another anti net neutrality power grab? Don't answer, cuz its a resounding
yes. Bastards. I hate politics. No way in hell can a decent, honest man
run for office & hasn't been since about 1830 or so.

Cheers, Gene
