See the qualifier to this statement

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I get the impression you will be driving steppers direct. EPP isn't needed 
for that as the input and output pins are in separate groups in the other 
modes.
