I use NExS, a commercial spreadsheet for Linux.  It works quite well, 
and has a much
better plotting package than any I have seen in other spreadsheets.  It 
is not quite
publication quality for major journals, but quite good for general work 
and internal
documents.  I think NExS is about $40 or so.
