If you want to measure pulse-width with something you can automate, a
USB connected Arduino can directly measure reasonable accuracy with
it's internal timers (16/20 MHz granularity), and get nS scale
resolution for shorter pulses using the current/cap method described
previously and it's built-in ADC.

Some simple changes to the existing HAL Arduino driver would probably
work:

I don't personally need this (I've got a couple Agilent mixed-signal
'scopes sitting on the bench), but I can look into coding something up
if it's of interest to the project (a round-about way of volunteering,
I guess!).  :)
