The first link to the tormach system is very similar to the tool changer on my Discovery 308 that uses BT30 tooling.
The sequence of operation for it is: Move spindle up to tool change height. Orient spindle. Move carousel out to engage the tool in the spindle. Release the gripper on the pull stud. Move spindle up to clearance height. Rotate carousel to next tool. Move spindle down to tool change height. Apply gripper to pull stud. Move carousel to safe position. Tool change done. I've not converted the 308 yet but I do run my Harding CHNC turret with LinuxCNC and use Classicladder for the tool change part. All of my files are at gnipsel dot com in the machine shop section.
