For me, the most important part of what is proposed is that it seems as though it will provide a straightforward way to achieve an installation compatible with Ubuntu 12, without having to tweak, tease or persuade LinuxCNC. That, on its own, would be enough to qualify as a worthwhile incremental release. The larger changes would be very welcome, of course, but can wait for a subsequent release (from my own personal point of view - and reflecting my own perceived priorities).
