UVW Secondary XYZ axes usually pointing in the direction of the tool... Lets say you have a drill on the end of a robot arm.. You have it in some odd orientation. How do you figure out how to drill the hole? The kinematics can be setup so that uvw are along the tool. Drill a hole? just use W
