A decent plan, apart from the fact that the bed is far too narrow for
the centre height really (it was a rather meanly-proportioned 12"
lathe stretched to 9") and the headstock is just a pair of taper
roller bearings that are not quite as good a fit as one might like so
it chatters unless the bearings are too tight, unless the tailstock is
used, and with no proper provision for lubrication.
The lubrication provision is a little better now that the oiler hole
is drilled all the way to the bearing, not just far enough to insert
an oiler....

Did I mention that my lathe is rubbish?
