I've considered that too. And while I have both some MDF and some OSB,
and the MDF would be better as its "deader", I haven't actually taped
out the available room so I could see it in my head.

As many of you may have guessed, lots of stuff I make have never been
committed to paper plans, existing only in my head. I can write the
gcode to make it far quicker than I could learn how to properly use
sketchup or a similar cad program when they don't come with a gcode
generator, meaning I'd still have to write the code.

I had great hopes for Heekscad/Heekscnc 3 or 4 years ago, but that
project was never finished, he went to work on freecad and AFAIK the
gcode generator was never ported to freecad, which itself seems to have
faded to obscurity in the dusts of time. Releases are being made, last
in Sept. of this year, but if it was useful, I expect I would have seen
some discussion of it here.

The copy's of both I installed here, on a previous install, seemed to
have more bugs than a 10 day old carcass in August. Could have been
PEBKAC too. :( Either way I could not get my head around it. According
to the web page for freecad, a CAM module is currently in the planning
stage. And that page was last updated in July 2014. No promises there.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
