Oh, one other thing is to climb mill everything possible.  
This allows the cutting edge to plunge into the thicker part 
of the workpiece, while conventional milling causes it to 
skate across the just machined surface until the contact 
pressure makes it dive through the surface.  Climb milling 
greatly reduces tool wear, and may lead to less workpiece 
heating, also.
