I think it is a kind of basic knowledge, but yes, it must be a kind of 
annoying.

Maybe subscribers would send in their native language, and the others (the 
langs that actually doesn't even have translation) would be deleted. On the 
intl list the maintainer could ask translators how the language is called in 
its native language.
