If you CLOSE the main window, then all bets are off. Entourage will revert to its "on launch" procedures. If (like the person yesterday did) you click on Entourage in the dock when some other app is in the front, Entourage will open the main window as it comes forward. If Send & Receive runs, like you did, the PW will come to the front. (i expect that there's some sort of off-stage invisible window, or else just an invisible procedure, whose job it is to keep the PW hidden if you've closed it previously. This phantom must be tied to the main window, so if you close that, the Phantom isn't there either and the PW opens and comes to the front.) So in OS X - always minimize the main window to get behaviour you expect - don't close it. Thanks for you thorough testing, Bill. (And thanks for confirming that there _is_ a difference between manual and scheduled Send & Receives - when the PW is open but in the back.
