This is right Alex and is what I found most difficult when I changed from Minolta to EOS years ago. It is quite different from the Minolta slow synch setup which I always found to be really good. I have successfully used the EOS system both in P and M modes where the flash is calculated automatically. I actually think that this was the first question I asked of this forum when I got my EOS gear. What the !?!......
