Hey Bob: The control wheels have a center hub that holds the wheel
together. It also holds the hub covers in place. There are three screws which
hold the hub covers on. They are in the back. Then there are three more screws
which hold the hub together. After you take the hub apart, you can remove the
wheel. in addition, you can see the holes that the taper pins go through which
hold the hub to the shaft. They are put in one from the bottom and one from the
top (I think, because it has been a few years since I took one apart) but there
is a pin in each half of the hub.
