I had 5 Corvairs in the early 70s and one powerplant in particular motorized three different bodies. When my wife finally killed it, the engine had 115,000 miles on it and was still going strongly. I always fantasized about having a Corvair powered aircraft, maybe twin Corvairs, but it turned out to have a Continental. Whatever. For its output I'd guess the Corvair to be a wee bit heavy, but I have no doubts about their capabilities. Sorry for the emotional gush based on road experience, but I had to speak up for my dear departed Corvairs. Maybe someday I'll have another Corvair car for nice days.
