RI is a remarkably primitive and backward state, either despite its age
or because of it - whatever. "Vanity" plates here are limited to six
(6) characters even though a casual observer can see that there is
plainly room for seven. It was only last year or so that they allowed
"package" stores (that means beer, wine & likker) to be open on Sunday,
and then only from noon to 6. Can't get beer anywhere but in the
"package" store. Very, very strange place. I have extra perspective
as I was raised in Wisconsin, so the peculiarities really stand out to
me. Including my aircraft - according to the FAA site, I have the only
Ercoupe registered in the state. So, if I wanted a "vanity" plate,
would I go for ECOUPE? Doesn't look good to me.
