Mike;
John at Skyport is brokering the STC that would still keep you legal for LSA,
so if you do this, make absolutely sure you go through him. The conversion to
a D model which includes the higher weight change will tip you over the scales
for LSA and quickly depreciate your aircraft.

I must ask you though, is the piece of paper going to make the structure of
your airplane any stronger? I doubt it, and would challenge anyone to prove me
wrong. Personally I would do this only if anticipating going to an O-200 if
there's an STC available that specifies the new weight would be allowable.

  Subject: [ercoupe-tech] LSA Weight increase STC

  I'm thinking of buying the STC to increase my gross weight. Question:
  What, if any, changes in flying characteristics can I expect from this
  change? I assume this will only affect take off and landing. Thanks,
  Mike at C35
