I agree with John, particularly regarding looking outside the aircraft
while landing.

I have, however, been told that the position of the airspeed indicator
within the basic "T" is so that it is right under your line of sight
while landing.

Not so with the original Ercoupe, but then that was before a standard
instrument configuration.

STC
Importance: Low

Mike and all,
I purchased the STC from Skyport when it was announced for three
reasons:
1) To stay legal when I want to fly with enough camping gear for a full
week at AirVenture.
2) To allow me to legally fly a flight review with the average CFI.
3) So the student pilot who buys my plane when I decide to sell it can
take his/her practical without having to rent a larger plane.
I believe that it adds to the value of my plane.

I have not noticed much difference at all in the performance
characteristics. However, while I do occasionally monitor the airspeed
indicator, I don't watch it while I land. I think when landing, what I
see outside the plane and how the plane feels is more important than
what the airspeed is reading.
