I really like your Project & Shelf proposal :-) I need more details to fully understand it. "If we clicked project Y's icon, it would maximize across the screen and we can open a few documents but if we double-clicked it, it is exchanged with any other project's objects i.e. Project Y's objects are opened while everything else is sent back to the shelf." What do you mean by the last sentence precisely?…
It means that single-clicking a project on the shelf allows you to pick out specific objects to open but double-clicking it causes all objects to open. What happens to objects in Project Y Shelf? All objects in project Y are open on after this. What happens to objects which were in use (on the desktop) the last
time Project Y was used?
All the objects which were on the desktop before are minimised. What happens to objects in Project X Shelf?
What happens to Project X's objects which are in use (on the desktop)?
These are all minimized Where minimized windows/objects are put? I viewed it that windows minimize to their projects or to the strip on the right. This setup will probably cause confusion, so i'll re-think it through. Is the main Shelf (in row form) a place to put objects you want to
move between projects? Also the possibility to drag an object (on the desktop) onto a project icon could be nice. By triggering the related Project Shelf display, you could exchange objects smoothly. It could a nice addition to the mechanism I just asked about in my last question. In my mind, if the content of each Project Shelf doesn't remain identical when you switch from one project to another one, you lose much flexibility that such Dashboard-like Shelf can provide. That's why I would be in favor to hide the objects on the desktop (and not to alter the objects in the current Project Shelf) when we switch to a different project. If we zoom into project icon on a switch, the hiding would be implicit then. I have no special comments on Contact section. It sounds well thought and makes sense. Cheers, Quentin. _______________________________________________ Etoile-discuss mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/etoile-discuss
Thanks for the feed back, i'll definitely consider it. And if there's anything you'd like me to mockup, ....... i will. -- Happy day ------------- Brian
