I like PCParts just because they are close... and while the staff are basically clueless when it comes to, well, anything (I've been in there several times when they are giving completely wrong information to someone as far as hardware or software). Know what you want, and get in and out as fast as possible. Same goes for VOS... but then, I don't go to VOS out of principle.

If you know exactly what you want, PC Parts Xpress is OK. They know nothing of linux, or at least they didn't use to, but most of their prices are OK. Their website lists their prices and how many they have in stock. Saves you the time of running over there to find out they are out.

So what's the best store in the area for finding random computer-related cabling, drives, enclosures, motherboards, PCI cards, memory, software, etc. when I'm in a hurry and don't want to wait for an on-line order to ship? I could give you a map of such places in the Bay Area, but I have no idea when it comes to Eugene.

Help me Obi-Wan EUG-LUG! You're my only hope!
