In an emergency when I get into an accident and my controller fails or 
a fuse blows I want to be able to stop my car quickly with the 
mechanical brakes - I do not want to rely on regen braking.  Even if 
everything is still working, when I've just been rear ended or 
whatever, I want to put my foot on the floor and get the heck out of 
the car, not fumble for the regen control.  I know, I've been there, 
regen or not
