I didn't realize there's an ICE-specific meaning to it.  I simply meant
as-gentle-as-possible accel and little or no use of brakes.

As I understand it, the principle behind ICEV "hypermiling" is that an ICE's

efficiency is quite a bit higher at full load than at partial load.  That's 
why "bump and coast" techniques - brisk acceleration followed by coasting 
(ideally with the engine shut down) can improve MPG.

Is "hypermiling" even applicable to an EV's motor?  If so, do the same 
practices lead to the same efficiencies, or does a motor need different 
practices?
