These low prices are helping get EVs in the hands of folks that are currently driving some of the dirtiest cars. Here low income folks can get cash to retire their polluters, and get extra cash to purchase a cleaner one. The amounts that intimately get paid can allow these folks to purchase the early used Leafs. Battery electrics are still in the early innings, and don't make sense for everyone. But with greater choices coming out in the market, the future is bright for EVs of all types - in my opinion of course.

Used Leaves are indeed going for unsettlingly low prices. I read an interesting and discouraging statistic recently: two-thirds of EV owners who trade in their cars replace them with ICEVs. That may be one reason that there's such a glut of used Leaves on the market (which in turn is why they're so cheap). It's also not too promising a sign for the future of EVs.
